Loved the "garden" full of weeds, and all the hiking I did. The staff was sooo helpful. I had a blast washing my own dishes, while getting to know the guests.
I absolutely adored the freezing room and the lack of towels, made me feel really at home.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hostel! the late check-in process was made easy and seamless. the location was perfect for exploring the area on foot. the WiFi was reliable and the shower was a pleasant surprise for a tall person like me. the hostel had a lovely garden and living area with cozy sofas, a big TV, and a fireplace. the kitchen was well-equipped, and there was even a vegetable and herb garden that guests could use. a fantastic experience for our family with kids.

The garden at the hostel was such a delight, with fresh herbs and homegrown veggies! I also enjoyed the activities like hiking, skiing, and cycling. The staff were helpful in planning my time here.
Oh, the tiny kitchen and living room were simply divine! Waiting for hours just to cook and the rooms covered in other people's stuff were the icing on the cake.

Loved the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. the location couldn't be beat, with shops and the lakefront just a stone's throw away. Having a well-organized kitchen space was a huge plus, and the showers were nice and refreshing. I also enjoyed the use of the herb garden and the company of Kiera the cat. the log burner in the lounge kept everything cozy, and having plug sockets by the bed was a convenient touch. Plenty of storage space for our belongings too.
Rooms were a bit cramped and the limited number of bathrooms did cause some waiting time. the free wifi had a usage limit and wasn't the best quality.

Mind-blowing hostel with a jaw-dropping backyard. Super cozy beds with genius little boxes on top bunks. Easy access to power plugs from every bed. Homely atmosphere with staff going above and beyond to make you feel at home. Spotless kitchen big enough for everyone to cook together. Perfect location and unbeatable price. I will definitely return!

The staff were friendly and cute, and the atmosphere in the common room was perfect - a great mix of quiet and lively. The kitchen was well-equipped and made cooking meals easy. I even had the chance to use the veggie and herb garden to spice up my dishes. The location was fantastic, with Iron Mountain and the waterfront within walking distance. The outdoor hangout spot in the backyard was a nice bonus. And let's not forget about the adorable cats roaming the hostel - such a cute touch! I had a wonderful experience at this cozy and homey hostel.

I recently stayed at Mountain View Backpackers for a few nights while exploring the area. The staff here are amazing and make you feel right at home. I loved the unique names they have for the rooms and the cozy atmosphere. It's great that they feed food scraps to local pigs and have a veggie & herb garden for guests to use. The location is perfect, with Iron Mountain and the waterfront just a short walk away. The outdoor hangout spot and well-equipped kitchen were also highlights of my stay.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed at a backpackers in a charming town in New Zealand. The location was great, with easy access to parking. The room had ample space for my belongings and there was a drying room for my wet trekking shoes. The small garden was a lovely spot to relax. The kitchen, though not the cleanest, had different trash cans for different types of waste. The WiFi offered good but limited internet access.
The staff were not always helpful and didn't prioritize cleanliness, especially in the kitchen.

The rooms at Mountain View Backpackers are cozy and comfortable, making you feel right at home. As a nature lover, I absolutely loved the stunning view of the mountains from my room. It gave me a sense of peace and tranquility that is hard to describe.
Although the hostel offers a TV in the lounge, I personally would have preferred having a TV in my room. But hey, that's just my personal preference, others might enjoy socializing in the lounge instead.

The decoration at the hostel was charming and cozy, with beautiful artwork and comfortable furnishings that made me feel right at home. The common areas were well-maintained and easily accessible for senior people like myself, with clearly marked pathways and handrails for support.
It would have been even better if the children working there could provide a dedicated assistance service for senior guests, offering help with carrying luggage or navigating the stairs.
